“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path…” Psalm 119:105
This simple verse of guidance and reflection is very appropriate for the week I have had… (A little back-story)… We have been searching for a new home for months and months and finally went into escrow on a place we love. This journey has been full of disappointment, frustration, and lots of paperwork! Even as escrow progressed, we couldn’t be completely confident that we would actually close the sale and this process has had so many twists and turns…I can’t keep them all straight. We have been living in a sea of boxes for weeks…not knowing if we are actually moving or not. Buying a home starts out being such an exciting concept! We were anxious to get out with our realtor and look at homes that we were so sure we had a chance at purchasing. Little did we know that after a few short weeks, reality would set in and the process of searching became a bit of a chore. This has nothing to do with our realtor…she is amazing and is such a sweet and patient lady. I know she has been trying so hard to get us a home we love. After all this time and effort, we became emotionally attached to this particular place and feel like we could make it ours. It’s not fancy and needs some work to make it “pretty” but there is something about it. The neighborhood is cute, the backyard has tons of potential… it’s great for our little family. My husband and I have been praying so diligently that God would show us the right path to take. Sometimes I need a reminder that not everything is in my control and I need to give those situations up to Him and ,basically, get out of the way. The more I trust, the more peace I have and I am so thankful I am not alone in these moments. I am happy to say, the light seems to be shining from the end of a long tunnel and we will hopefully close this escrow next week! I can’t wait to set down some roots and make a permanent home for my kids! A big thank you to those of you that were saying little prayers for this to work out. We are so grateful! Happy Friday Everyone!
