face-less friday 10.5.12 {just breathe}

Have you ever had a change of heart? A feeling that you need to re-arrange some priorities and simplify? I had one of those moments last week…a moment of reflection. Not to sound too dramatic but it was a day that changed my entire perspective. We have had alot of things going on around here personally and professionally and I needed a little “me time.” So I grabbed my girls and we went on a nature hike to enjoy each-other and “just breathe.” Ava got a new fuzzy wolf hat and wanted to break it in with a shoot (I have such a diva!). I  had some sticks and a tablecloth and we made our own little camp-out in the woods, or as she called it, A “Bear Hunt!” I brought my camera along like always, but this time, not to capture poses or anything pre-planned. I wanted to enjoy my girls and I watched as they explored and used their imaginations. I saw them in a different light and took in every moment. The light was so beautiful as it shone through the trees and we found the coolest thistles with bright purple blooms! After a crazy couple of weeks, all I really needed was an afternoon in the woods with my little “bear hunters.” I often forget how much better life is when we “un-plug” and take a moment to see the important things God blesses us with. My challenge to you this weekend…. take a few minutes or a day and put away your phone, your computer, and the TV and get outside… breathe in the air and see things in a different light. I guarantee you will see average, everyday things in a new way and maybe appreciate them a little more. Happy Friday !

I know this is breaking “face-less friday” tradition but I had to add a photo of Ava in her wolf hat and “hunter” gear!;)
